A Heart's Plea

A bit of sun-shine,
I plea,
to enter a promising day.

Yet, sadly,
I find my world,
but blind,
and deepest gray.

Appear,
and give me sweet light,
my love,

That I may leap to day’s first flight,
and soar with thee,
one, together
to meet the heaven’s night.
